Grant N. Perryman

Grant N. Perryman was born to read. His avid reading empowered his active imagination to travel worldwide, learning and exploring. In the 7th grade, he wrote his first poem, inspired by the legends of the Harlem Renaissance. He found his voice through the likes of Claude McKay, Langston Hughes, and Nikki Giovanni.

Growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area, Grant’s weekend adventure was going to the local library, which later became his first job during high school.  He pursued his higher education at Howard University in Washington, D.C., and earned a Master's Degree at San Francisco State University.

He is a member of a local church. Over the years, Grant has served in the Youth Department, Drama Ministries, Praise Dance Team, Prison Outreach, and Missions. In 2000, he traveled on his first short-term mission trip to Ghana, West Africa. Four years later, Grant proposed to his wife in Ghana and had a beautiful traditional "Akan" wedding ceremony in California. Together, they share four adult children and one grandchild.

Grant is the Executive Director of Meaningful Life USA, a faith-based nonprofit that raises money for its sister agency, Meaningful Life International, based in Tema, Ghana. Funds and donations are used to drill freshwater wells and provide free basic medical attention to rural communities of Ghana. Additionally, at the request of community leaders, houses of worship are established, and leadership seminars are conducted.  The ongoing construction of Doron Medical Center (hospital) will provide a future sustainable income.

Grant firmly believes that we are all born with a purpose.  It was his assignment to learn about the world we live in and travel from one end to the other through the imagination of his mind and communicate it to you. He is proud to be a lifelong learner.
